Two hours, start to screening
A standalone weekend session for ages 7 to 14. Children arrive with nothing and leave having made and watched their own film. Separate from the six-week school blocks, and you do not need to have done one to come.
How two hours is enough
Because the format is built for it. No slow start, no long introduction. It opens cold, straight into making something.
Early on we cover the three secrets, which is my shorthand for hook, promise and payoff. It is the thing that separates a video people watch from one they scroll past, and children get it much faster than adults do.
Then it is pick an idea, film it, edit it in KineMaster, and finish with a live premiere screening where every pair gets an award. Up to 20 children, working as 10 pairs.
- All equipment provided, including tablets
- A finished film made by your child and their partner
- Live premiere screening with an award for every pair
- DBS checked and fully insured, same as every session
Good for a first go, or a bit more of a push
A first taste
For a child who is curious but not ready to commit to a six-week block, this is the low-risk way to find out whether they take to it.
No club at their school
If your child's primary doesn't run an after-school block yet, this is how they get to do it anyway.
Slightly older children
The upper end of the range, 13 and 14, tend to push the editing a lot further than the primary groups do. I let them.
Dates and booking
Upcoming workshop dates are listed on Ticket Tailor. If nothing is listed, that means nothing is scheduled yet rather than that it is sold out, so email and ask when the next one lands.
