- Short video lessons and printable worksheets
- Work at your own pace, with no deadlines
- Personal feedback from me on each lesson's main task
- Camera optional, and a grown-up can write things down for a younger child
Starting is a conversation
Home education looks different in every family, so I start by finding out about your child rather than handing you a fixed timetable.
If your child has additional learning needs, or finds new places hard, tell me when you get in touch and we will plan around it.
Quick answers
Does my child have to come to sessions in person?
No. Arts Award works at home and online, and the Youth Achievement Awards are worked through at home with a workbook.
Can I help my child with the work?
Yes, you can support them. The ideas and the creative work need to be theirs. In the January courses, a grown-up can write things down for a younger child.
Does my child need to be good at art?
No. Arts Award is open to anyone aged 25 and under and embraces all interests and backgrounds. The Youth Achievement Awards have no entry requirements. We pick the level by looking at your child's age, ability and the time they have.
Do we need to live in Rhondda Cynon Taf?
Not for work done at home and online. Ask, and I will tell you what is possible where you are.
Are there any costs?
Each Arts Award has a certificate fee, and the Youth Achievement Awards have a registration cost. I tell you exactly what applies before you commit. Details of the January courses will be on this page when they open.
What does my child get at the end?
An Arts Award certificate for Arts Award, or Agored Cymru credits and an official Agored Cymru certificate for the Youth Achievement Awards. They keep both.
