Where accreditation actually stands
This page exists so that nobody has to guess, and so that nothing on the rest of the site overstates it.
The short version
Creator Academi is working toward Arts Award accreditation. We are not an Arts Award centre, and sessions do not currently lead to an Arts Award qualification.
Exactly what is done and what is not
Bronze and Silver adviser training
SEND focus. Booked for 22 October.
Discover and Explore adviser training
Not yet booked. The October course was full.
Centre registration
With Trinity College London. Not yet completed.
Agored Cymru registration
Not in progress at this stage.
Why say all this out loud
Two reasons, and neither of them is modesty.
The first is trust. If a parent or a school books on the understanding that their child comes out with a recognised qualification, and that is not true yet, that is a problem I have created for myself and for them.
The second is that inaccurate claims now cause real problems later. Funders and awarding bodies check. A website that claimed centre status before it existed would sit there as evidence against every future application.
What it will mean when it is in place
Arts Award is a nationally recognised framework that gives young people a qualification for creative work they have genuinely done. For the alternative provision strand in particular that matters, because it turns engagement into something a young person can carry forward and evidence.
When the training and the centre registration are complete, this page changes and the rest of the site changes with it. Until then it says what it says.
